Greetings! My name is Erika and the owner of Elemental Tonics. I am a Community Folk Herbalist and Clinical Nutritionist. I started my journey in the healing arts through an herbal apprenticeship program which then lead to further studies with various herbal medicine schools throughout the Pacific Northwest where I was educated in ecology, botany, foraging, ethical wildcrafting, herbal growing, herbal medicine knowledge, and formulating. This lead to a deep reverence for herbal folk traditions and I have spent the last decade researching and applying this knowledge. I also work with plant spirit medicine as a way to access emotional, intuitive, and spiritual connections with plant allies.
My love of plants grew into a desire to explore different health modalities including using food as medicine, and I received my Masters in Clinical Nutrition with an emphasis on holistic healthcare. Integrating both herbal and nutritional disciplines allows me to have a deeper understanding of how to support overall wellbeing, including physiological, emotional, and spiritual health.
I run a private nutritional consulting practice called Elemental Healing based out of Portland, Oregon and an apothecary with an emphasis on all organic herbs grown on site, ethically wildcrafted, or sourced from local organic growers. My mission is to make herbal medicine accessible to all people at low price points, offering workshops and herbal education. My products specialize in alcohol free formulas for those sensitive to alcohol or in the recovery community, highlighting unique old world herbs from folk traditions, and integrating ritual craft (the use of herbals in ceremony or spiritually oriented application). Currently I am also in the research and development stage of growing Elemental Tonics into herbal skin care line, and anointing oils.
My role as a community herbalist extends to working with local non-profits in the creation of medicine gardens, offering herbal education, and currently designing a community care station with free herbal products.
