The Women's Formula comprises herbal ingredients for different stages of a woman's development including reproductive health, hormonal imbalances such as pms, regulation of the menstrual cycle, or menopausal symptoms including hot flashes.
~Angelica archangelica is native to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Russia, and Greenland. In the indigenous traditions of the Sami it was used to help facilitate shamanic journeying. Lapplanders used it to prolong life, and other Scandinavian traditions used it for spiritual protection as well as against contagens. It's uses also include for women's health, digestive and nervous system support, circulation, and respiratory and immune infections due to it's anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is believed to be supportive of the kidneys, and a superior remedy for convalescence.
Angelica's herbal energetics are warming and diffusive therefore it is known to move the fluids of the body including the blood, lymph, plasma, bile, and phlegm. Due to this reason it is known as being a good detoxification agent. As a women's herb it helps bring circulation to the uterus, relieves menstrual cramping, pms, and regulates the female cycle. It is tonic to the nervous system such as nervous exhaustion and tension.
~Motherwort is native to Central Asia and southeastern Europe, the ancient Greeks called motherwort, "lion's heart", and used it for emotional and physical problems of the heart. In China, it was used for longevity. In Native American traditions used it for women's health issues, digestion, and relaxation.
For women's reproductive health motherwort is tonifing to the uterus and balancing to women's hormonal changes including pms, menopause, and regulates menstruation. Motherwort is as a heart and cardiovascular tonic. It can be helpful where stress is directly affecting the heart potentially leading to heart disfunction.
Motherwort acts on the digestive tract and liver, helps support the nervous system, is anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic.
~Damiana is native to Mexico, South and Central America, the Caribbean, and southern Texas in the United States. It's historical folk use dates back to the both Mayan and Aztec cultures and into present day Mexico as an aphrodisiac and was called flor de amor” or “flower of love". It was used in religious ceremonies for euphoria or heightened levels of consciousness or to induce deeply relaxed states. As a mood lifter it has an affinity for balancing the nervous system, and aids in increasing stamina.
Damiana is known as a woman's herb in that it positively affects female sexual health, balances hormones, brings blood flow to the uterus, and provides support in menopausal symptoms such as mood swings and hot flashes. Damiana also supports respiratory health and can help reduce coughing, improves digestion, pain relief, and is antifungal and antibacterial.
~Hops are native to Europe and western Asia, and used in folk traditions for relaxation, indigestion, and inflammation. Hops are a sedative nervine and act as a sleep aid, relieve muscle and nerve pain as well as menstrual cramps. For women's health hops contain pytoestrogens and can be helpful in menopausal symptoms including hot flashes and sleep disturbances. They also have a cooling and bitter action on the gastrointestinal tract helping with the digestion of fats and nervous distress affecting digestion. Hops dispell intestinal worms, have antifungal and antibacterial properties.
~Blue vervain is native to the United States and Southern Canada. In folk practices it was used to treat nervous conditions, and is classified as both an adaptogen and as a nervine relaxant. ~Raspberry Leaf (red) are native to the United States and parts of Asia, and have a long history of use for women's health. ~Yarrow is native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It was often used in traditional folk practices for women's health to help regulate menstruation, and to strengthen the uterus.
