Quiescence is a term that refers to a quiet or still state. This tonic positively affects the mood and acts as a nervous system relaxant. ~Wood Betony is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It was widely popular in folk traditions throughout Europe and often referred to as woundwort. It was employed for pain associated with the head, and helping to stabilize the mind and nerves. Wood Betony overall is an excellent nervous system tonic specifically relating to the muscular-skeletal system and digestive tension. It's herbal actions are astringent, bitter, sedative, hypnotic, and also helps with tension headaches, lowering blood pressure, stress, and anxiety. 

~Lavender is native to Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean. It was often represented in love, protection and purification rituals in folk traditions. Lavender’s primary medicinal use is as a nervine, as it relaxes the nervous system and is helpful for tension, agitation, and as a sleep aid. On an emotional level lavender can be effective for mood disorders helping to bring a more balanced peaceful state of mind. Lavender is muscle relaxant, antispasmodic, and helps with minor pains, strains, spasms, and tension headaches. Topically lavender is an excellent wound healer for burns, insect bites, acne, and has strong antiseptic properties

~Skullcap is native to North America, Europe, Asia, and Canada. Used by Native Americans as a nervous system tonic, for kidney problems, and women's health. It is a relaxing sedative suitable for mental tension, anxiety, addiction recovery, and as a sleep aid. Additonally skullcap has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and can be helpful for muscle pain and spasms.

~Passionflower's is native to the Southeastern United States, Central America, and South America. It's first recorded use dates back to the Aztecs. First Nations people such as the Creek and Cherokee in the United States used  passionflower as both food and medicine. It's primary uses are as a nerve tonic and to promote relaxation. It has a mild sedative action, will support restful sleep, and calms the mind. It also acts as an antispasmodic, has mild pain relieving properties for both nerve and muscular-skeletal issues, and is beneficial for hormonal irregularities such as premenstrual syndrome. Additionally,  passionflower has been documented to help with side effects from drug withdrawal. 

~Hops are native to Europe and western Asia, and used in folk traditions for relaxation, indigestion, and inflammation. Hops are a sedative nervine and act as a relaxant, sleep aid, and to relieve muscle and nerve pain. For women's health, hops are pyto-estrogenic and help support hormonal imbalances such as menopausal and pms symptoms. Hops bitter actions are also useful for the gastrointestinal tract helping with  digestion of fats, nervous distress affecting digestion, and are also known to possess antiparasitic, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties.

~Catnip is native to Europe and Asia, where it was long used in cooking and herbal medicine.
