~California poppy is native to the western coastal range from California to Washington. It has a rich history both medicinally and spiritually. It was believed to open the light within, enhancing spiritual and emotional growth, and as a balancer to the emotions. California poppy is a gentle nervine helping to calm excitability, restlessness, and sleep disturbances. It has also has been documented in use for those recovering from addiction and withdrawal. It's calming action also affects circulation, regulates heart beat, and decreases blood pressure. It has mild pain relieving properties in both nerve and muscle tissue as well as antispasmodic actions for tense, aching muscles.
~Jasmine is native to many tropical and subtropical areas throughout Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East. Strongly used as an aphrodisiac, the oil was often added to many love potions. Jasmine has always been associated with the symbol of the sacred feminine and the moon as many varieties bloom in the evening. In India jasmine is referred to as the Queen of the Night, and symbolized fertility and love in both Muslim and Hindu traditions. In China is was associated with feminine beauty, and in Roman times was affiliated with the Moon Goddess Diana. Medicinally, jasmine has an affinity for the female reproductive system. In Ayurvedic medicine it is used for menstrual regulation and cramping, vaginal infections, pms, and easing childbirth. Jasmine is calming to the nerves, and employeed for emotional distress.
